Note: This tool will be re-activated on September 4th. This tool creates a vote by mail application that is pre-filled and ready for signature and submission by mail. Vote by mail applications are rejected if they are received before Friday, September 5, 2008. In order to not encourage early applications this tool is on hiatus.

What to do in the meantime? Blockwalk your precinct and code in the blockwalk tool those voters who wish to vote by mail. Keep a list of students or friends who live or work out of county and use this tool in September to send them an application (or get them to print their own). Make calls using our ID Texas links to find seniors statewide who need to vote by mail.

Note: This tool uses the latest data we could collect from the Secretary of State. It will not include folks who just registered before the Feb 4th deadline. You may be registered and still not found here. If you are are concerned, please contact your County official.

RULES FOR TEXAS MAIL-BALLOT APPLICATIONS

Using this site, you can print out a vote-by-mail application for anyone who meets the criteria of being eligible to vote by mail. The allowed criteria are shown by this site when you are preparing an application. More information can be found on the official Texas' Secretary of State site: http://www.sos.state.tx.us/elections/voter/reqabbm.shtml

This tool will print out where the voter is currently registered to vote, as of our most current data. You must use this "registration" address for this purpose (unless the voter has recently re-registered to vote at a new address). If your voter registration address has been changed and you have a new voter registration card, cross out the incorrect address in the box and write the new one. If you have not updated your address, leave it as it is and change the address in the box of where you wish to the ballot to be sent.

Every application must be mailed in an individual envelope to the address listed on the application. DO NOT put the application of two or more voters in the same envelope.

Texas law allows anyone to assist a voter in filling out and mailing these applications.

However, you may NOT assist a voter in marking the actual ballot or collect the marked ballots of other people to mail them. (An exception applies for a relative to do so for their next of kin.)
